What separates the Stachehouse from other barber shops?
Eddie – What separates The Stachehouse from other barbershops is our brotherhood. We have all been cutting hair together
for a really long time. Clients feel that, they can sense we are family. They become family too.
Lenny – What separates us from others. The ambiance, the vibe, the energy. We treat everyone with respect, it’s almost like
going to your best friends house. We talk a little bit about everything, have a cup a coffee, eat, have a drink, celebrate life, and
not to forget a photo shoot fresh cut. Good times!
You definitely have a hip urban vibe. Are customers ever intimidated when they first walk in?
E – There have been times that people have been intimidated by us laughing and bugging out, but we are harmless, big teddy
bears even. L – Customers are good, they usually end up enjoying there
time in the Stachehouse, they even voice their opinion. It’s
all love we don’t mean no harm, but we joke on each other
too much. That can be intimidating to some people. It’s All
fun and games.
You have several barbers on staff. How competitive are
you guys?
E – We are very competitive with each other but I feel that
that keeps us on out toes. It makes us better knowing we
are analyzing each other’s cuts.
L – There isn’t really competition but more of everybody
learning from each other. We are a team. The only time we
are competitive is when we play board games, dominoes,
arcade games, or sports.
Styles come and go. What’s the current style when
it comes to men’s
haircuts?
E – For the last year
or two it has been the
longer hair on top with
shaved sides. Different
variations of the same
haircut . (Combover,
undercut, hard parts,
etc.)
L – These days there
are so many different
styles that people
don’t even know what
they want. The fade
is always popular, the
taper, man bun, comb
over with the hard part.
Always different.
Are you able to go out
at night and not look
at people’s heads?
E – I saw something online and I agree 100% with it. “I make
hair contact before I make eye contact.” We see a lot of
great and not so great haircuts. My eyes gravitate to hair
everywhere we go.
L – I’m really bad with that sometimes, since I’m in the
business and that’s the first thing I look at when go
anywhere. Even females, specially when there eyebrows
look crazy. The worst is when I’m talking to someone and
the nose hairs look like spider legs trying to climb out their
nose and ears (laughs). Sometimes I wish I wouldn’t notice
those things.
Music is part of the atmosphere at the Stachehouse. How
picky are you over what music is played in the shop?
E – Music is a big part in barbershops. Unfortunately even
on the radio, there are certain words that we do not want our
younger or older clientele to listen to. We have a friend @
therealdjkep who Dj’s on Gems Radio 91.7 FM and we tune in
everyday.
L – I enjoy listening to my music while doing my master
pieces. Sometimes we have to turn down for the mothers
when they come with the kids. We’ll change it to something
more appropriate. But for the most part I love listening to
tunes while I’m working, it’s one of my favorite things to do.
Would you ever consider a female barber?
E – Absolutely! There is no reason why a female barber
can not kill it in a male dominated barber industry. Ask @
staygold31 and @mdm_grooming. They are killing the game!
L – I been looking for a female barber that’s sharp. I haven’t
found the one that can
fit with us. But if the one
appears I would hire
her.
How important is
social media to the the
Stachehouse brand?
E – In this day in age,
social media better be
important to any brand.
You can reach a lot of
people for free online.
By the way, follow
us on Instagram: @

@seemslegitrobb @

L – Social media is very
important due to fact
that people can see the
haircuts in pictures and
you can reach out to basically anybody. It’s also A good way
to advertise your self.
How did you come up with the name the Stachehouse?
E – We we’re going to name it “The Mustache House” but
decided to drop the M-U to give it a more funky vibe.
Finally, what would you say to anyone who has never had
the haircut at the Stachehouse?
E – Come see us. We have 4 barbers with over 80 years of
experience. All of us are trained to give you exactly what you
want. We will get you right!
L – If you have not been to the Stachehouse, come give us
a chance and experience the art work.
